The Rotary Club of Slough is . . .

The Rotary Club of Slough is a group of some 35 men and women, from all over Slough and the immediate area, representing various ethnic groups, who meet together as often as the spirit promotes and other commitments allow. Members enjoy a responsible position in their chosen vocation and are able to speak on this authoritatively. The Club was granted a charter by Rotary International on 22nd December 1932.

The club's philosophy "getting more out of life  - working together for others" sums up our approach. We are young-hearted, good-humoured, and keen to add the professional touch. It is said we enjoy an 'esprit de corps' worthy of the best organisations.

The club meeting night is a Thursday throughout the year. Members gather from a round 6:15 pm to enjoy supper at 6:45. The meeting closes after coffee usually before 8:00pm depending on the programme. On some weeks there are post supper presentations from members or a visiting guest speaker.

We currently enjoy two regular meeting places, The Copthorne Hotel,  Cippenham Lane, Slough SL1 2YE and the Long Barn in Cippenham. The venue for a particular night can be found by clicking on Club Calendar on the main navigation bar. If you are a Rotarian visiting Slough and would like to join us please advise the club secretary on 01753 642120 beforehand.

Members are distributed between three working committees depending upon interests and skills and one evening per month is given over to committee business.

In simple terms one committee focuses on events, open to the whole community, that will raise funds, one on developing a programme of service to the Slough area and expanding our humanitarian reach around the world and one on strengthening fellowship and the way in which the club functions.

Closely related to Rotary are Inner Wheel, a ladies only organisation that complements and supports Rotary and two clubs sponsored by Rotary. These are Interact, a club for young people ages between 12-18 and Rotaract, a leadership, professional development and service group for young adults ages 18-30.

Logos and Branding

The club seeks to deliver a professional approach to its activities, with sound organisation that can be trusted to deliver value to those taking part. The standard club logo and the "Slough Together" logo are strongly recognised locally.

The flutterby characters below are employed to emphasise the outdoors and exploration nature of our annual charity walk event as well as introduce an element of fun for children and adults alike.
