Tips for a successful Walk

Thank you for agreeing to participate in Slough Together Walk – 2013, we wish you a happy time discovering the delights of Eton, Eton Wick and the Jubilee and Thames rivers. Don’t for get to tell all your friends and colleagues about this exciting day! Remember there is more to discover the more of you there are.

Entrance and Start.Start/Finish at Upton Court Park, Upton Court Road, Slough, SL3 7LU. The entrance gates will be open from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.  You may start the walk from 10:00 am, with the latest start time at 12:00noon. Marshalls will be on hand to direct you to the free parking and start/finish control.

Checking In. Remember to bring your Sponsorship Form(s) with you to get them signed. For safety reasons all walkers must check in at both start and finish. Remember to collect your souvenir walk completion certificate before leaving. 

Map & Discover. To get the most out of your walk print a copy of the Map and the Walk Guide from the website.

Clothing. Wear comfortable shoes or boots and carry a bottle of water. Depending on the weather forecast a lightweight waterproof, a sun hat,  sun glasses and other suitable clothing should be considered. Water is available at the start.

First Aid. Professional medical personnel, from Critical Care Medical,  will be in attendance between 10:00 am and 4:30 pm at the start/finish area. We will provide you with a mobile telephone number for the start/finish control when you check in. Should you need medical assistance, or decide to break off the walk for any reason, please telephone this number.

Toilet Facilities are available in the start/finish area and public toilets in Eton are marked in the Walk Guide. There are also many public houses along the route.

Refreshments are available at the start/finish area and at various establishments along the route.

Safety. Walking on public roads/footpaths can be hazardous and appropriate personal safety precautions should be taken. All walkers taking part in Slough Together Walk - 2011 do so at their own risk. The Rotary Club of Slough, its officers and members, shall not be liable for any injury, damage or loss howsoever caused.

Dogs are welcome but must be kept under control, please respect public notices.
